Sigh’s “Kaedit Nos Pestis” is a Real Motherf*cker

“Kaedit Nos Pestis,” which is the title of Sigh’s new song, is Latin for “plague strikes us” — but just as importantly, it’s a line from Sophocles’ Oedipus the King, a.k.a. Oedipus Rex, a.k.a. “The Play Where the Dude Realizes He Killed His Dad and is Fucking His Mom” (thus the term “Oedipus Complex,” no doy).

Between some select phrases (e.g., “We were born in Hell”), I can’t really understand what the lyrics to this song are… but it certainly feels unsettling the way I imagine it would to realize that you, y’know, fucked your mom. The song basically sounds like someone gave you a dose of really bad acid and left you in an amusement park haunted house. Sigh continue to churn out the soundtrack to your existential nightmare.
