Stream Another New Jasta Track, “Deadly Business”
Is Jamey Jasta working on another Jasta album?
“Deadly Business,” which he premiered on his own podcast over the weekend, is the second new Jasta track to be released over the past few weeks, following “The Immortal.” It’s certainly possible these two tracks are stand-alones — or perhaps he’s just using them to promote Jasta’s upcoming appearance at New England Metal and Hardcore Fest — but it’d been since 2011 since we’d heard any new Jasta music, and now this, two tracks all at once. I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if Jasta made an announcement in the next few weeks or months that both tracks are from an upcoming new record.
Stream the new track below at the top of Episode #74, featuring Gojira-loving guitarist Mark Tremonti. The song starts at the 1:40 mark after a brief podcast intro. Jamey plugs the song as being available at his Bandcamp page, but as of this writing it’s not yet posted there. Jasta describes this one as a bit more “trashy,” and I’d say that’s pretty accurate as far as the guitars go. Vocally it’s got a big hook, with Jasta experimenting with a bit more of a trashy, melodic vocal style than we’re used to hearing from him. Check it out:
