Best Dystopian Animated Sci-Fi Metal Video Ever of the Day: Torche’s “Annihilation Affair”

One of the great things about metal is it lets men and women who feel like outsiders know that they’re not alone. Being at a concert with a few dozen, hundred, or thousand other people who also have a closet full of black shirts, hate everything, and find the idea of slamming into one another while blasting obnoxious, violent music appealing really helps with feelings of depression and alienation.

And I think Torche’s video for “Annihilation Affair” works in that same way, really. Like, until about five minutes and fifteen seconds ago, I thought I was the only dude who smoked too much weed, fantasized about amalgamating various science fiction tropes, and watched stag films (8mm, bitch — streaming porn is for poseurs) all at the same time. And yet, I stand corrected.
