Devin Townsend Wins Juno Award, Jams with Hand-Fart Extraordinaire
Devin Townsend had a big weekend: his Z2 won a Juno Award (basically The Grammys, but just for Canadians) for “Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year” (I guess he’s lucky Tenacious D. aren’t Canadian!), and that was only the second greatest honor bestowed upon the multihyphenate in the past forty-eight hours.
Far overshadowing his winning a big dildo with metal hand grips was this jam sesh with Guy First, the Israeli hand-fart maestro who already counts Gojira amongst his admirers:
Although Townsend has already worked with such legendary musicians as Steve Vai, Gene Hoglan, Mikael Åkerfeldt, Paul Masvidal, and Ihsahn, it’s hard to imagine him ever topping this collaboration with First. I mean, maybe if, like, Jimi Hendrix rose from the dead to do a guest solo on the next Townsend album it would come close to this. Maybe.
