There’s a New Season of Metalocalypse Coming April 29th! (UPDATE: No there Isn’t)

UPDATE, 4:12pm EDT: There is not a new season of Metalocalypse coming after all. Adult Swim goofed and re-posted an old trailer for Season 4. Show creator Brendon Small explained on Twitter that he has no idea why they posted the old trailer and he had nothing to do with it, and he also offered the following on the possibility of more Metalocalypse in the future: “I have plans to service a final story & music- but not in way fans are used to. So ends the 0:30 trailer that just showed up on Adult Swim’s website for the new season of Metalocalypse, the show’s fifth, which will premiere on April 29th.

What could it be? Who the hell knows — some extra girdth on Corpsegrinder’s Nathan Explosion’s neck, perhaps? — but whatever it is, we’ll be waiting anxiously.
