At the Gates/Voivod Split 7″ Detailed

In January, we learned that At the Gates and Voivod would be releasing a split 7″ featuring a new Voivod song, “Connected” (listen here) — but what we weren’t sure what ATG’s contribution would be… until now! [cue dramatic music] The At the Gates side of the split will contain “Language of the Dead,” a previously-unreleased song the band recorded during the At War with Reality sessions. More new At the Gates?!?! WHOO-HOO!!!

The split will be “Double A-Sided,” which a press release explains will mean “each band has their own, reversible front-cover side” by Voivod drummer Michel “Away” Langevin. The At the Gates cover is below; you can peep the Voivod cover here.

Gotta love how bare bones, DIY that art looks, right?

The split will be released April 6 on both bands’ label, Century Media, in several limited edition pressings (specifically: 1,000 black vinyl copies, 500 white vinyl copies, and 500 transparent red vinyl copies). At the Gates will be selling it during their upcoming stint headlining this year’s Decibel Magazine Tour (dates), but you can also order a copy here.
