Get Your Spacey, Tech-Death Fix with Irreversible Mechanism’s New Jam (Featuring ex-Faceless Drummer Lyle Cooper)

When it comes to all things on the more technical side of the death metal spectrum our man Dave Mustein has you covered: dude’s been picking ’em out for MetalSucks since 2009. So when he named Irreversible Mechanism’s Infinite Fields as THE album that will fuck your face off in 2015, better believe we listened.

Mustein was correct, of course. Today we get to hear the title track via Metal Injection and it’s a ripper and a half. Yeah, it sounds a lot like The Faceless, which isn’t too surprising given ex-Faceless drummer Lyle Cooper’s membership in the band, but with The Faceless not really making music that sounds like this anymore a band like Irreversible Mechanism are welcomed (although The Faceless’ recent output is great too). What’s most interesting is that the other two members, the creative nucleus — guitarist Vladislav Nekrash and vocalist and bassist Yaroslav Korotkin — both live in Belarus. This band is truly a product of the Internet era.
