2015 Rockstar Mayhem Festival to Announce Line-Up Next Month

It’s March, and you know what that means — it’s just about time to start announcing the big summer tours! Many have tried to create successful annual metal megapackage tours, but the only ones still on their feet are Summer Slaughter (which is basically Ozzfest minus all the main stage shit you don’t care about) and Mayhem Fest (which is basically Ozzfest plus the actual monetary compensation of the bands). And while we still don’t know when the organizers of Summer Slaughter will announce the bill for their 2015 edition, we do know when to expect an announcement regarding Mayhem Fest, thanks to this Twitter exchange with Mayhem head honcho Kevin Lyman:

Who will be on the tour? Well… who are the bigger bands with new or newish releases to promote? Slayer, Mastodon, and Marilyn Manson are both Mayhem alum, as are The Black Dahlia Murder… I could see Anthrax fitting in pretty well… BTBAM? Maybe they really throw us all for a loop and get Napalm Death?

I guess we’ll find out next month! ‘Til then, I will say this: I really hope the headliner is just Scott Stapp talking. No music, just Scott Stapp, on a stage, swearing up and down that he’s clean. That would be SO ENTERTAINING.
