Battlefield Earth Star to Appear in Feature Film Directing Debut from Slipknot’s Clown
It’s been a year-and-a-half since Slipknot percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan announced his feature film directing debut, Officer Downe, so I had completely forgotten about the whole thing. Which is amazing, because given Clown’s incredible talent as a documentarian and music video director, it seems safe to say that Officer Downe‘s breaking of box office records is all but guaranteed.
OMG, like, so exciting that this dude is getting to make an entire narrative feature, right?
And now there’s more good news: actor Kim Coates has been cast in the title role, according to The PRP. The master thespian is perhaps best known for his role in the award-winning sci-fi classic/Scientology parable Battlefield Earth, as well as attaining the #1 spot on IMDB user lovindapeace-638-284312‘s prestigious “Men I wouldn’t kick out of bed! :)” list. But I’ll always love Coates best for his role as the dude Bruce Willis kills with a single punch in The Last Boy Scout.
Production on Officer Downes begins next month, and will presumably be hitting VOD streaming services sometime in 2016.
