Tool are in the Studio… Maybe… Probably Not
Which of these events will occur first: there will be a new Tool album, or Jesus Christ shall rise from the dead and bring all of His followers into His eternal kingdom of Heaven?
Over the weekend, Tool fans got all excited becuase Motörhead drummer Mikkey Dee posted the below video from a Los Angeles recording studio, in which he revealed that “the guys from Tool” (his words) are in the studio next door. Since said LA studio isn’t Tool’s rehearsal space, people interpreted this to mean that Tool were FINALLY recording a new album.
Unfortunately, the story almost immediately thereafter took a tragic turn! After The PRP reported on the story, Maynard James Keenan took to Twitter to kill the hopes and dreams of millions of Tool fans around the world with but a single hashtag:

I think Keenan is being a little harsh, calling everyone who interpreted the video to mean Tool are in the studio “gullible” — I mean, Jones is in Mikkey Dee’s video, so it’s not like the rumor was just pulled out of someone’s ass.
Still, it seems clear that whatever Jones and any other of the “Tool guys” were doing in the studio, it wasn’t making a new Tool album. So Jesus Christ can still beat ’em to the punch!
