Mastodon’s Brent Hinds Allegedly Booted from The Grammys

The Grammys are total fucking bullshit, and it seems as though the Mastodudes know to treat them as such. So little fucks do they give about these nonsense awards, in fact, that it seems guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds may have gone and gotten himself booted from the ceremony. So claims this Instagram post from The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Ben Weinman, who is also collaborating with Hinds on the new Giraffe Tongue Orchestra project:

Party Crasher in the house right before Brent Hinds gets kicked out of the awards show cause he pored his bag all over the floor and undies and money and weed spilled everywhere and he wouldn’t pick it up. “Sir you have to leave.” “Why” “because you don’t know how to behave!”

It seems worth mentioning that Hinds’ behavior is often a little, er, disruptive, so he wasn’t really doing anything he wouldn’t normally do as a form of protest. But the point stands: some people take these awards shows ssssssssuuuuuuppppperrrrrrr seriously, but Hinds ain’t one of those people (and neither, it seems, are any of his other bandmates). Good for him. What the fuck is the point of these ridiculous exercises in industry autofellation if not to have fun?
