Sevendust are Heading into the Studio to Record Their 10th Album
Every time a Sevendust album cycle starts anew, I get a tremendous kick out of watching new MetalSucks readers that’ve come on board during the past couple of years get all twisted up about how much Axl and I like the band, not having been privy to our gross PDA the last time(s) around. Yes, we legitimately love Sevendust, no troll! No, we haven’t gone soft in our old age — we’ve been covering the band since the first months this site was in existence. Yes, they’re a much better band than many of their late ’90s / early ’00s nu-metal peers we so ruthlessly rip up. No, neither the band or their label are paying us to write about them, and no, we’re not friends with the band members. We just like their music! Sometimes taste can’t be explained. So you will be reading a lot about Sevendust in the near future. Deal with it!
So: Sevendust just got off the Shiprocked cruise, where Lajon Witherspoon took the stage with Living Colour to perform the latter’s “Cult of Personality,” which looks like it was a really special moment. Here’s some fan-filmed footage:
After everyone left the boat’s de-facto No Internet Zone, both Clint Lowery and Witherspoon posted Instagram photos with captions saying they’d be heading into the studio next week to start recording Sevendust’s tenth (!) studio album:
So: New Sevendust album by late summer or early fall? Certainly seems likely! Get excitebike!
