Listen to All That Remains’ “Tru-Kvlt-Metal” Song
Here’s what All That Remains frontman Phil Labonte has to say about their new song “Tru-Kvlt-Metal,” in between sending royalty checks to Antares for the embarrassingly heavy amounts of Autotune he’s using on the track:
It’s really sarcastic. It’s really directed towards the people that we’ve heard year after year, record after record, saying, ‘Oh, put out another record like “The Fall of Ideals.” We’ve done that, and even if we did it, some purist would say it’s tarnished anyway because we’ve already done it. You can’t win, so [the song] is kind of like flicking my nose at them and giving them the bird.
OK, whatever dude. I guess this song is kinda heavy, although said heaviness is canceled out by the nails-on-a-chalkboard sound of Labonte’s autotuned voice… but either way, it’s sarcastic, right? Ha ha, really funny! Sure told those kvlt metal dudes what’s what!
Can we please go back to the Phil Labonte that makes a fool of himself on national television and says idiotic things about gay and racial issues in America instead of the one that tries to be clever through sarcastic lyrics? I liked that Phil Labonte much better.
