Do Yourself a Favor and Go See Moon Tooth
So last year, Vince and Frank from Metal Injection saw this young band called Moon Tooth at Saint Vitus and promptly reported to the world that said young band is the bee’s knees. Based on their orgasmic reaction to the band, MetalSucks and Metal Injection invited them to play the fifth annual MetalSucks/Metal Injection CMJ showcase, which was the first chance I actually got to see them. And I can tell you exactly what thoughts went through my brain as I watched Moon Tooth’s members spazz out on stage:
- “What the fuck?”
- “HOLY FUCK!!!”
That’s it. Moon Tooth are an undeniably strange, totally kick-ass beast who don’t really fit into any one genre. Anyone whining about a lack of originality in modern metal needs to check these cats out.
Actually, scratch that: you should ALL check these cats out, ’cause they are goooooooood. And you’ll have a chance to do so when they go on tour next month! If you can go to one of these shows you should absolutely do so. Skip it and you’re only hurting yourself.
