Play the Torche Video Game
I gotta say, of all the bands in extreme music, I would not have expected Torche to be the latest to release a side-scroller to promote their new album. They just don’t seem like those kinds of geeks, ya know?
But whatever — they have released a side scroller! So now we all have one more way to procrastinate when we should be working. AND anyone with the skills to beat the game (which might be mad easy — I haven’t played it yet!) can win some sweet stuff. Thanks, Torche!
Here are details of the game and contest, Torche vs. Robots: Annihilation Affair, from a press release:
“The desktop based, single-player, side-scrolling game allows players to pick their favorite band member on a quest to save Miami from becoming a post-apocalyptic wasteland. A mobile version will be released shortly.
“Fans who play the game are eligible to win a prize pack that includes [Torche’s new album] Restarter on vinyl, a t-shirt, two tickets to see Torche on tour and stickers. To enter, contestants must upload a video to YouTube which shows them beating the game with the hash tag #torchevsrobots. One prize pack per band member/character will be awarded with winners picked on Feb. 23.”
Check out the game here. Torche’s Restarter come out February 24 on Relapse. The band kicks off a tour with Nothing on March 6; get dates here.
