Get Stoked: Textures Will Release a New Album in 2015!
We’re still shaking off the cobwebs from our holiday slumber, so kindly grant me a late pass on this one: Dutch progressive metallers Textures announced over the break that 2015 will bring a new album. Huzzah!
Here’s an update from the band’s Facebook page:
Happy New Year everyone! After a year of ultimate highs, including our ‘Polars’ 10th Anniversary Tour through Europe, 2015 will be a year of new insights. This will be the year in which we will record and release our 5th record and it will be one to look forward to!! See you soon!!! Have a great year everyone!
Textures fans are accustomed to waiting patiently, whatwith three years between Silhouettes and Dualism and on pace for four years between the latter and 2015’s forthcoming release. But it’s always worth the wait: Textures are that rare band who seem to out-do themselves every time. Silhouettes was one of my favorite records of 2008, Dualism made my 2011 list without breaking a sweat, and I have high hopes and expectations for whatever 2015 may bring. It’ll be the band’s first record without founding guitarist Jochem Jacobs, although I suspect he may still be involved in some kind of production capacity (he stays active at his studio in Amsterdam, Split Second Sound), so who knows — maybe it’ll be a total game-changer for them? New guitarist Joe Tal is certainly more than capable, and this band is no stranger to lineup changes.
Get stoked. In the meantime, entertain yourself by re-listening to Dualism for the umpteenth time:
