Melechesh Sea Red on “Multiple Truths”
Just in time for your family’s annual Christmas pilgrimage to Jerusalem, Middle Eastern metallers, Melechesh have released “Multiple Truths,” the debut single from their new album, Enki. Musically, the band is still up to their usual tricks (i.e., black metal that sounds influenced by the music of the band’s region — which is exactly what it is!), but the production is a lot smoother and larger than anything we’ve heard the band do in the past. That’s not a bad thing — this song is more brutal than watching a bunch of white dudes play Egyptians with British accents for three hours in Exodus: Gods and Kings. It’s a bigger kick in the teeth than getting socks for Hanukkah. It’s bigger and bloodier than Santa’s body after he gets stuck in your chimney. In short: it wrecks.
Check out “Multiple Truths” below. Enki is out March 2 on Nuclear Blast.
