He Is Legend Drummer Explodes, Dates Cancelled

He Is Legend announced yesterday that illness has forced the cancellation of five dates opening for Snot. It super sucks for their fans and their tourmates, and especially for their drummer Sam Huff and his case of appendicitis! I’m no doctor, but I think Huff’s chest must’ve hurt like fuck for a day or two before that appendix finally said Fuck it. Way to take it, brah! I kinda imagine him gulping, puffing his cheeks out, patting his sternum, and blaming a bad vegan brisket. But nay, it was serious enough that Huff had to be made lighter by like six ounces in San Antonio and now will need a few weeks to mellow, according to the internet. The silver lining is that the other members of He Is Legend lurked at the Austin date last night — though if I’d attended I would’ve begged for them to perform in some way, say, as a quartet. Like, “You’re here so why not play “China White III,” this jam, and fuck it, this one too? Whatever. Let’s send vibes of healing to Huff by experiencing his monster-est performance from He Is Legend’s year’s-best album, Heavy Fruit.
