Which Oscar Nominee Will Appear on the Debut Album by Mastodon/Dillinger Escape Plan Supergroup Giraffe Tongue Orchestra?
Last month, The PRP reported that The Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman was collaborating on some mystery project with Juliette Lewis, who is a singer, but is primarily known as the star of such films as (and I may be showing my age here) Natural Born Killers, Cape Fear, From Dusk ‘Til Dawn, and Christmas Vacation (the last of which is probably playing on TBS even as I type this). I don’t know if that collaboration had to do with a Lewis project or something new or Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, the long-teased supergroup featuring Weinman and Mastodon’s Brent Hinds, but regardless, Lewis will apparently be making some sort of appearance on the latter band’s debut: Metal Injection picked up on the below Instagram pic from Weinman, which includes the #GTO hashtag for (duh) Giraffe Tongue Orchestra.
Additionally, Lewis herself posted this pic:
Right now. Recordin with @benweinman Making love to the microphone… #awesomesauce #gto

If Weinman can somehow rope Nine Inch Nails mastermind/DEP fan Trent Reznor into appearing on the album, too, GTO’s first release will have as many Oscar nominees in it as any prestige film currently in theaters.
While we wait to enjoy the fruits of these labors, here’s Lewis covering PJ Harvey’s “I Can Hardly Wait” for the movie Strange Days. She probably has something more recent/original than this that I could post, but I’m a lazy dick so I’m just using the shit I already know. My apologies to Ms. Lewis.
