Killswitch Engage Recording New Song for Official Game of Thrones Mixtape
As much as I love HBO’s Game of Thrones, I completely missed that the cable network commissioned a mixtape, entitled Catch the Throne, to promote the show’s fourth season earlier this year. Probably because it didn’t have anyone I actually care about it on it (the mixtape included Big Boi and a bunch of other people I’ve never even heard of before).
But they’re doing it again for the fifth season! And this one will feature at least one band about whom I give a crap: Killswitch Engage! KSE vocalist Jesse Leach broke the news via Instagram:
This makes me happy on multiple levels: because we get new KSE music, because it’s related to Game of Thrones, and because it means that HBO is currently employing someone who knows who the hell Killswitch Engage are. Really, this pure win.
The fifth season of Game of Thrones begins April 8, 2015; presumably, the mixtape will be released around that same time. I have no idea who else is on it. Probably a bunch of people I’ve never even heard of before.
