Juicy Rumor: Vocalist Derek Rydquist Returning to The Faceless?
The Faceless are down to but a single member, guitarist/mastermind Michael Keene, which is kind of a problem, because the band is booked for two shows in January. So Keeneeither needs to get a new line-up together (even if it’s just a temporary one) fast, or disappoint some fans in Tampa and Dallas.
Could the band’s former vocalist, Derek “Demon Carcass” Rydquist, be part of The Faceless’ re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-jiggered line-up? This tweet from the band’s label, Sumerian, certainly suggests so:

Rydquist, who also plays bass in Bereft, performed a set with the band in Austin just this past July, as a fill-in for Geoffrey Ficco, who succeeded him in 2011. So it seems safe to assume that he’s on good terms with Keene. And I think fans would be delighted to see him return to the fold, given that he appeared on two of their three albums. So keep your fingers crossed that Sumerian isn’t just fucking with us or thinking aloud or whatever.
