Stanley Kubrick Meets A-ha in Sylosis’ NSFW Animated Video for “Leech”
Sylosis’ new NSFW animated video for their song “Leech” is super-cool looking! It’s also kinda funny: it seems to be equally influenced by Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut…
…and “Take On Me,” the legendary video from Norway’s A-ha (which, in all fairness, was itself taking its cues from the movie Altered States):
There might be some other reference points I’m not getting (is the vagina-hand slug thingee from something? (yes, this video has a vagina-hand slug thingee (actually now that I think about it, it’s probably a leech, not a worm, duh))), but those are the ones that jumped out at me.
I don’t even mean that as a knock: like I said, the video is rad! And, far more importantly, so the song, which we’re hearing for the first time now.
Kerrang! debuted the clip. It’s not embeddable, but you can check it out by clicking on the below screen cap. “Leech” will appear on Sylosis’ new album, Dormant Heart, which comes out January 13 on Nuclear Blast.
