Here’s the Album Art for Periphery’s Juggernauts, Alpha and Omega
I was just being a jerk when I said that Periphery’s upcoming albums, Juggernaut: Alpha and Juggernaut: Omega were “the djent djeneration’s Use Your Illusion.” But looking at the just-released album art, well… the comparison kinda fits! The album art isn’t identical the way the Illusions art is, but they have the same layout and are distinguished by contrasting colors, Illusion-style. I approve.
The press release spills some additional beans about the art:
“The album artwork reflects the story behind the Juggernaut releases, a tale of birth and re-birth with the first album (Alpha) sharing the origins of the main character and the second offering (Omega) sharing the gut-wrenching twists and turns the tale takes. Each release is housed an outer, die cut o-card with the band’s signature P and three dot logo, which, once removed features a booklet cover from graphic novelist Justin Randall. Each album includes a 12-page booklet with numerous illustrations that add a visual layer to the conceptual albums.”
In other words: fans who actually buy physical copies of the Juggernaut set will be highly rewarded!
Both Juggernauts come out January 27 on Sumerian. The band hits the road with Nothing More, Wovenwar and Thank You Scientist earlier that month; get dates here. Now seems like an ideal time to remind you MetalSucks is currently doing a contest with Periphery, Dark Horse Comics, and The Last of Us, wherein you could win a super-sweet prize package!
