If you know anything about metal at all then you know that NOBODY BEATS THE BYZ!!! Kip W. and I saw Byzantine tear the pants off everyone at NYC’s Webster Hall a couple of weeks ago on their current tour with Thy Will Be Done and IKILLYA, and a better live show was not to be found anywhere else during the week-long CMJ Music Marathon: mosh pits were started, beers were spilled, heads were banged and high-fives were… whatever you do with high-fives. Lots of high fives, all around! Being a fan of The Byz is to be a member of a very exclusive club.

Photographer Robert Escue became the latest MS contributor to drink the Byz Kool-Aid last Thursday in Norfolk, VA, where the tour collided with a special one-off by Goatwhore and three local bands, Precipice, Saltine and ‘Til the Casket Drops. Take a look at some photographic highlights below.
