Alice in Chains New Video is Creepy, was Released Through BitTorrent
Alice in Chains’ new Roboshobo-directed video for “Phantom Limb” is totally captivating and positively creepy, and you should absolutely watch it via the embed below.
But what’s really interesting is that the band released the video through BitTorrent Bundle; yes, that BitTorrent. It’s free to stream and free to download (not sure why anyone would want to download a music video, but whatever), and if you give BitTorrent your email address you’ll also get three “premium files,” including the treatment for the video in .pdf, a shot-list of the video (also in .pdf) and an image of an Alice in Chains t-shirt. Kind of a weird way to release a video, and I’m not sure what BitTorrent is trying to accomplish with this, but there you go.
BitTorrent Bundle also released Thom Yorke’s new solo album last month, by the way, although it cost $6.
