Brand New Cancer Bats Song Finds the Band as Angry and Pissed Off as Ever
Cancer Bats are one of those bands to whom I’d magically bestow infinite worldwide popularity, Dethklok-style, if given the chance to have a wish granted by a magic genie. Call them a “magic genie band,” one whose popularity is not nearly commensurate with their insane level of talent / awesomeness. I’m sure you can easily think of five such bands you and your friends just lurv but the world at large doesn’t seem to get.
Although I hear Cancer Bats are a much bigger deal in their native Canada (and I think Europe too), for whatever reason they just haven’t really caught on in a big way in the U.S. So maybe (hopefully!) this next album will be a turning point? It’ll be called Searching for Zero, was produced by Ross Robinson (At the Drive In, Sepultura, Slipknot) and will come out on March 10th, 2015 via New Damage Records.
Damn, that’s a long time from now, but thanks to Exclaim you can hear a new song called “Arsenic in the Year of the Snake” right now. It’s angry, it’s pissed, and the lyrics are super-dark — more on what inspired that accompanying the premiere at Exclaim.
