This is What Lemmy’s Son Dave Kilminster is Up To These Days
UPDATE, October 20, 10am EDT: Welp, I will now go eat a big bag of dicks: Dave Kilminster is not Lemmy’s son, nor are the two even related at all. I’m still really digging his music, though, and so should you!
Original Post:
Proof positive that the offspring of famous musicians aren’t destined to live in the shadows of their parents: Dave Kilminster, son of the man whose unique beard style is so synonymous with its most well-known wearer that it’s now simply called “The Lemmy.”
The younger Kilminster has carved out a nice career for himself as a guitarist, spending the last eight years playing in Roger Waters’ live band (including on his massive stadium tour of The Wall) while releasing a number of solo and collaborative efforts all across the musical spectrum. Amongst all sorts of guitar styles, turns out the dude can SHRED! Check out this cover of Steve Vai’s guitar work on David Lee Roth’s “Shy Boy.”
His latest solo work, …And the Truth Will Set You Free, came out on September 22nd, and while the usual sources like his official website, YouTube, Spotify, etc don’t have any full tracks from the album to stream, Kilminster did post the below video a few weeks ago containing some samples. I dig how all over the place it is — shred, classical, classic rock and more — and I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy to check it out in full.
