Despised Icon and The Red Chord Announce First U.S. Show(s) in a Very, Very Long Time
It’s been four years since Despised Icon performed on North American soil, and almost exactly three years since The Red Chord did so, coincidentally at our own Metal Suckfest. No one stays broken up for good these days, so it was only inevitable that both would return eventually… but who could’ve predicted that two of the very best proto-deathcore bands would be doing so together?
That’s exactly what’ll be happening this December when Despised Icon and The Red Chord share the stage at The Palladium in Worcester, MA on December 21st. Despised Icon will be wrapping a four-date NE jaunt that also includes shows in their native Montreal, Toronto and New York City, while it seems as if the Worcester show will be a local one-off for The Red Chord. Despised Icon toured Europe earlier this year and The Red Chord are playing in Japan in November, so this show(s) won’t be the bands’ first post-reunion… but it is certainly a momentous occasion nonetheless, and one that fans of good metal can’t afford to miss.
Wonder if Guy’s cop buddies will be coming out to see him at the show? I hope so! I’d love to see one of those dudes just destroy some flat-brimmed-hat-wearing pit ninjas.
Dates below!
Dec 13 – Montreal, QC @ Club Soda
Dec 14 – Toronto, ON @ Opera House
Dec 20 – New York, NY @ Gramercy Theatre
