Rad New Video Alert: Schammasch Basks in “Golden Light”
At first, it may be tough to respect the gravity of an awesome band whose name kinda sounds like a drunk Sean Connery mentioning the title of his favorite Offspring album. But that silly image fades like a second after a listener clicks play on Schammasch’s mega-album Contradiction, which came out in Spring. (Well, actually it fades a second after a listener chuckles lovingly about the patness of the word “Contradition” as a title for a gravely-serious sleeper classic by a band with a semi-funny name.) It’s trancey, ominous, and overwhelming like the best blackened death metal, both a godsend for insatiable fans of Behemoth and Triptykon and for forecasters of tomorrow’s big bands. We love it!
Today Schammasch reveals a schammasching (sorry) new video for “Golden Light,” the jam that sets up Contradition‘s huge, scary finale. The clip features killer Euro scenery but not enough shirts. Check it out below (via Bloody Disgusting) and stream Contradiction here:
Schammasch’s Contradition came out in April via Prosthetic. Get it here.
