NOLA: Life, Death and Heavy Blues from the Bayou: Episode Four Available for Viewing
I’ve just about run out of synonyms for “fantastic” that I can use to describe NOLA: Life, Death and Heavy Blues from the Bayou, Noisey‘s seven-part series examining the people and the culture that helped foster New Orleans’ incredible metal scene. Suffice it to say, you’re a damn fool if you’re not watching these and eagerly awaiting the next episode.
Here’s the official synopsis for the newly-released episode four:
“From the shrimp boats to zydeco to the cocaine tray, Sammy Duet and Kirk Windstein talk about influence from the crescent city starting in their childhood until now. Acid Bath breaks into the New Orleans scene with a killer work ethic, but Sammy’s discovery of Darkthrone leads to an entirely different path.”
I could honestly listen to Kirk Windstein talk all day — That smoky voice! That Nawlins accent! — so I found this ep especially enjoyable. But, again, you should really be watching this entire series.
