Scion is Making a Slayer Car!
Premium sock-manufacturer Scion has long had a stake in the heavy metal game: since 2008 they’ve been putting on yearly free metal festivals throughout the U.S., and for a while they were funding EPs for well-known bands like Immolation, Enslaved and Revocation to be given out to the masses completely for free. Things have been a bit quiet lately on the metal front for Scion, though.
Until now: at the national car show SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association) in Las Vegas, set to take place from November 4th through 7th, Scion will debut the “Scion x Slayer Mobile Amp tC,” a version of their tC product line tricked out in Slayer’s trademark aesthetic. According to an official press release, the car will be set up with a premium sound system too:
The band’s aggressive style carries into the tC sports coupe’s exterior look and band-inspired details. Inside, the vehicle has been transformed into a multimedia machine with amps, towers of speakers, a custom mixer and a 32-inch monitor for media playback. Mike Vu of MV DESIGNZ is leading the build process.
We’ll have to wait until SEMA to get a look at this bad boy, but MetalSucks has obtained a sketch of what the car will look like, shown above.
So, this begs the question: do you love Slayer enough to buy one of these? To zoom through your neighborhood strip mall with the windows down yelling SLAAAAAAYERRRRR at the top of your lungs??
Scion has also unveiled the “Scion x Riley Hawk Skate Tour xB,” a collaboration with pro skateboarder Riley Hawk.
