Slipknot Vocalist Corey Taylor’s New Mask: Anticlimactic Preview Available
Every time Slipknot release a new album, their fans get rrrrrrreeeeeaaaaallllllyyyyy excited about seeing their new masks. I kind of understand this because the theatricality of the band is obviously a big part of their appeal, but I also kind of don’t get it at all because the masks are usually just variations on the same theme (e.g., Clown’s mask is always a clown, Mick Thompson’s mask is always a metallic-looking Hannibal Lecter thingie, Craig Jones’ mask is always that S&M thing with spikes, etc.), and it really in no way effects their music.
But, hey, if you’re one of those people who absolutely just CANNOT FUGGIN’ WAIT to see the new Slipknot masks, well, far be it from me to deny you such a pleasure.
So… The PRP posted the below teaser video for Slipknot’s upcoming tour with Korn (kill me) and King 810 (kill me now), which features vocalist Corey Taylor speaking from behind some plastic sheets, so you can kinda see his new mask but not really. From what I can see, it looks kinda like a creepy troll doll mixed with Leslie Vernon from Behind the Mask. With The ‘Knot’s knew album, .5: The Gray Chapter, scheduled for a release on October 21, it stands to reason that we’ll get to see the whole thing sooner rather than later. And maybe then they’ll let us know who the new goddamn drummer is, too.
