Babymetal Announce NYC and London Shows in November!!!

It’s been a whole week since we’ve mentioned Babymetal on the site. Did you guys miss making pedophile jokes at my expense?

Well, then you’re in luck: after teasing a “Back to the US/UK tour” a couple of weeks ago, the trio of adorable Japanese teenage girls that’ve steadily worked their way into our hearts and minds has announced two shows, their NYC debut (finally!) and a return to London this coming November. No word yet as to whether there will be other shows too or just these two.

HALLELUJAH!!! I am sofa king excited I can’t contain myself! The NYC show is at the Hammerstein Ballroom, a 3,500 capacity room that’s a far cry from the 20,000 capacity Budokan in Tokyo, but with a spacious enough stage that, hopefully, they’ll be able to bring at least some of the theatrical production that makes their shows in their home country so captivating. The London show is at the O2 Academy Brixton, which holds approximately 5,000 people — a big step up from the 2,100 capacity Forum they played in July, which sold out in minutes. Whatever the size of the venue, I’m sure the shows will be electric: the girls command a magnetic stage presence completely by their own virtue, and I can easily think of at least 10 metal dudes in my immediate circle that are going to buy tickets as soon as they’re on sale. These shows will sell out in no time.

Pre-sale tickets for the NYC show will be on sale tomorrow, Thursday, September 4th, 10am through 10pm here. General public on sale goes live at 10am Friday.
