These Clips of Ice T Reading a Dungeons & Dragons Book are as Amazing as You’d Imagine
Ice T: rapper, metal musician, movie actor, television actor… Dungeons and Dragons audiobook narrator.
The idea of the man that once wrote a song about a cop-killing revenge fantasy reading a story about elves and orcs might seem odd, yet it somehow makes complete sense using the bizarre calculus that has been Ice T’s career and our culture’s enduring fascination with celebrity. And hearing Ice T’s interpretation of R.A. Salvatore’s short story “Comrades at Odds” — which SomethingAwful.com tells us is “a Drizzt Do’urden adventure” (whatever that means) that’s temporarily available for free to Audible members — ends up not feeling all that bizarre after all; he’s got the perfect voice for it!
Listening to Ice read fantasy names is by far the best part. Somewhere there’s got to be a treasure trove of outtakes of Ice struggling through each name, take after take, and I’d pay good money to hear some of that stuff. Can anyone at Audible help us out?
