These Bizarre Nu-Metal Covers and Remixes are Delightfully Weird
I was not heretofore familiar with Mabson Enterprises, an Internet label known for releasing bizarre covers collections of Miley Cyrus songs and “Call Me Maybe” over the past couple of years but I won’t be forgetting them anytime soon: their newly released collection of “classic” nu-metal covers is the strangest thing on the Internet this morning, and I’m weirdly fascinated with it.
What’s interesting here is that these aren’t just straight covers, at ALL — they’re completely whackadoo alternate universe versions of tracks that are, for better or worse, really well-known. Linkin Park’s “Crawling” played on a sitar. An ambient electronic mix of “Be Quite and Drive.” A Korn dance remix called “ADIDASSS.” A version of “Chop Suey!” that sounds like it was created by a flock of flinches tripping on LSD. These are way better than the originals! You’re welcome.
