Breaking: Nightstalker’s New Album Out August 28 … 2012!
More than once, you’ve had a Dr. Evil moment in which you outstretch your arms with palms up, bug out your eyes, and shake your head in rapid, inch-wide strokes in frustrated disbelief. It’s because you’ve encountered a piece of great news — so you’re pumped — but that news is from two fucking years ago — so you rage at discovering it so late. How, you wonder aloud, has this info eluded me? Might anyone have thought to tip me off? Throw me a frickin’ bone, here!
That’s a good problem, though, so ultimately it’s occasion to be happy. And so very happy are clueless fans (like me) about Nightstalker, authors of 2009’s eighth-best metal album. Back then, I wrote that the album — titled Superfreak — represented a remake of The Crown’s Possessed 13 (satanic, hooky, awesome) by young Monster Magnet (druggy, hooky, awesome). Here in 2014, I am impressed that I had been able to stop cranking the jam long enough to have written anything at all, yet its creators slipped off my radar by the time of Dead Rock Commandos, its 2012 follow-up. Maybe you missed it too, but you may now crank 80% of it below while you bemoan our negligence! Setting Google Alert now! Happy!
Nightstalker’s Dead Rock Commandos came out like 700 days ago via Small Stone. Get it here and here. I bet their new album is about done too lol.
