So, Uh, is Rob Zombie Just Remaking The Karate Kid?

So Rob Zombie is hard at work on his next musical romantic comedy horror movie, 31, and earlier today he shared a production sketch for the film via Facebook:

If you’re over the age of thirty, I’m guessing that this sketch immediately conjured an image from a completely different movie: the original 1984 version of The Karate Kid.

Of course, The Karate Kid‘s costume designers didn’t invent these costumes (at least, I don’t think they did), but they’re so well associated with that movie that Googling “karate kid skeleton costume” brings up as many purchasing options as it does stills from the flick.

Dunno why I’m surprised, though. We’re talking about a guy who officially remade Halloween twice and unofficially remade The Texas Chainsaw Massacre twice. It might be expecting too much to ask him to come up with an original concept.
