Soilwork’s Bjorn “Speed” Strid Accidentally Wandered Into a Sonic Syndicate Song

What’s a quality performer like “Speed” Strid doing working with a shit band like Sonic Syndicate? At first I thought “Well, he’s probably just way too nice of a dude to say ‘no’,” and then I thought, “Soilwork and Sonic Syndicate are on the same label, so maybe someone at Nuclear Blast asked Speed to do ’em a solid.” But I know the people at Nuclear Blast, and they’re all way too cool to ask Strid for such a massive sacrifice.

Which is when it hit me: Sonic Syndicate are aping Soilwork SO HARD that Strid must have thought they were Soilwork, and accidentally gone along with whatever they asked him to do. “Huh, Dirk got a haircut,” he must have thought to himself while filming this video. “And Ola looks much nicer than usual! What’s changed? Maybe he lost some weight? OH! And look at that! They got me my very own Mini-Me to help out with vocals. That was sweet of them! Man, being in Soilwork rules.”

Surely, sometime soon, Strid will realize his error and feel horribly embarrassed. No reason to be ashamed, chum! Sonic Syndicate are nothing if not adept at pretending to be better Swedish bands. It could have happened to any of us.
