Some dude named Paul Cunningham recently rearranged The Black Dahlia Murder’s “Statutory Ape” for a string quartet, and the results are pretty stunning. The fact that this works so well and is still easily recognizable as BDM’s original is illustration 2,581,709 of the connection between metal and classical. It will be a fun game to play this for my friends who hate metal and then spring the original on ’em the moment they ask me “What is this?”
