Mötley Crüe Coüntry Tribute Will Feature Staind’s Aaron Lewis, LeAnn Rimes, Hootie, and More
There tends to be some overlap between hair metal fans and country music fans (which explains why Bon Jovi and Bret Michaels are basically flat-out country artists now). So it actually kinda makes sense that someone has put together a compilation called Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute To Mötley Crüe, on which country artists countrify The Crüe. Our friends at Metal Insider takes issue with the track selection, but with three post-Dr. Feelgood exceptions — “Afraid,” “If I Die Tomorrow,” and “The Animal in Me” — I think it’s actually a pretty solid sampling of MC tunes. I mean, I’m not saying this thing is gonna be good, I’m just saying if it’s bad, I don’t think it will be because of the songs included on the comp. If nothing else, it oughta provide some comedy value… I mean, Brantley fucking Gilbert singing about strip clubs? LeAnn Rimes admitting that she can’t read the sign on the door? The idiot from Staind covering one of the worst Mötley Crüe songs from the band’s most embarrassing album? HOOTIE?!?! How could this not be hilarious???
