Dave Davidson and Marty Friedman are Both “Sociopaths” (and They Also Play Together on This Track)
Revocation guitarist/frontman Dave Davidson has been very open about his adoration for Marty Friedman in the past. So when one of his chief influences called him up and asked him to be the guest of honor on a track from Friedman’s new album? Well, dude must’ve completely lost his shit.
That track is called “Sociopaths,” and here it is in lyric video form. The track was a true collaboration between both artists, with both Davidson and Friedman writing parts and trading ideas via email; Davidson sings and plays rhythm guitar on the final product while Friedman plays the solo… although, really, their lead styles are so similar I’d believe it if you told me that’s Davidson wailing away.
After the lyric video, check out quick clips from Davidson and Friedman explaining how this track came together. Inferno comes out on May 27th via Prosthetic Records and can be ordered here.
