Delightfully Optimistic Guns N’ Roses Guitarist Richard Fortus Hopes Band Will Have New Music Out “in the Next Year”

I love Richard Fortus! He’s a great guitar player, he’s got great stage presence, he doesn’t dress up like one of his predecessors in Guns N’ Roses, he’s a legitimately nice dude… and I love his optimism, as demonstrated by this interview from this week’s Revolver Golden Gods Awards:

I would be shocked — SHOCKED — if Guns N’ Roses actually got any new music out ever again after the Chinese Democracy debacle, let alone less than a whole decade after that album’s release. But stranger things have happened. Fortus has managed to remain employed by Axl Rose for twelve years, which is actually one year more than Slash managed to hang in there. So I guess we’ll see…
