Cattle Decapitation’s Travis Ryan Lifts His Leg for Velvet Underground Cover
Well, this may be the strangest new recording you hear today.
Travis Ryan of Cattle Decapitation and Murder Construct fame guests on a new cover of Velvet Underground’s “Sunday Morning” — now rennamed “Sunday Mourning,” natch — which was recorded for Leg Lifters, the project featuring Justin Pearson (The Locust, Some Girls) and Nathan Joyner (Some Girls). I don’t know how you guys’ll feel about it — like I said, it’s pretty weird — but you can’t accuse the artists involved of failing to put their own spin on the material, that’s for sure. Personally, I think the presence of Ryan — whose vocals are truly unique in a genre where vocals are often disposable — is enough to warrant a close listen.
