Completely Unreadable Band Logo of the Week: Win a Dead Hymns Prize Package from Tiger Flowers and Artist Mike Wohlberg!
Congratulations to reader Bill Carr! Bill correctly identify last week’s logo as belonging to the band Gone Postal. (A lot of people guessed “Gore Pasta,” which is also a great name for a band, but, alas, not the correct answer.) For his troubles, Bill wins three CDs from the MetalSucks Mansion Archives. Enjoy ’em, Billy my boy!
Alright, so this week I have a rrrreeeaallllyyy cool prize for you from some peeps who are very near and dear to my heart. On April 8, New York’s own Tiger Flowers will release their debut full-length, Dead Hymns, via Melotov Records. This album is guaranteed to fuck your face off, just as we promised you it would at the start of the year. So to celebrate, not only are we gonna give this week’s winner a vinyl copy of Dead Hymns, but we’re also gonna throw in a limited edition screenprinted 18″ x 24″ Tiger Flowers spring 2014 tour poster, which was designed by Fat Kid Illustration’s Mike Wohlberg. Regular MetalSucks readers are probably familiar with Mike’s work because of the poster and merch designs he’s done for us over the years (including the poster for Friday’s annual SXSW South by South Dead Showcase), but he’s also done work for Cannibal Corpse, Today is the Day, Tombs, Trap Them, and Gaza, to name but a few. He’s only making fifty of these (signed n’ numbered, natch), and you can only get them on Tiger Flowers’ upcoming tour… unless you win this contest, that is.
Here’s the Dead Hymns album art…
…and here’s the tour poster…
…and, oh yeah, here are the actual tour dates:
April 4 – Newburgh, NY @ The Wherehouse
April 5 – Potsdam, NY @ Hurley’s
April 6 – Rochester, NY @ Firehouse Saloon
April 7 – Akron, OH @ Old Haunts
April 8 – Dayton, OH @ Blind Bob’s
April 9 – Chillicothe, OH @ Tecumseh Inn
April 10 – Parkersburg, WV @ 5th Street Pub
April 11 – Baltimore, MD @ Charm City Arts Space
April 12 – Brooklyn, NY @ The Gutter
To win, identify the name of the band whose logo appears below, then fill out the form beneath it with your guess and your name and address. From everyone who gets it right, we’ll randomly select one winner, and announce his or her name next week.
Here’s this week’s logo. It’s a doozy. Good luck!
