Whores Jump Someone Else’s Train (The Cure Cover)
Whores’ late-2013 EP Clean is friggin’ awesome. It’s noise and sludge and hardcore and metal rolled into one with hooks aplenty, and you can stream (and buy) it all through Bandcamp if you haven’t yet. Do it!
Whores are already back, this time with a cover of The Cure’s “Jumping Someone Else’s Train.” I was never a huge fan of The Cure so I can’t say I’ve ever heard the original, but I can say with near certainty that I prefer Whores’ powerful, sludgetastic rendition, embedded below along with the original for reference. The track comes from an all-Cure-covers 7-inch split between Whores and Rabbits co-released by Eolian Empire and Brutal Panda Records. Cvlt Nation has the Rabbits covers as well (“Give Me It” and “A Reflection”). Pre-order it here.
Whores are playing the fourth annual MetalSucks South by South Death showcase in Austin, TX on March 14th! Be there.
