Norma Jean’s “Sword In Mouth, Fire Eyes” Video Features State of the Art Special Effects
Steven Spielberg infamously had a really hard time getting the robotic shark in Jaws (named “Bruce,” after Spielberg’s lawyer, yuk yuk) to work, which is why you barely see the thing during the course of the movie. What a difference a few decades can make: Norma Jean’s new video for “Sword in Mouth, Fire Eyes,” which debuted yesterday afternoon on Metal Injection, features what must be the most realistic, lifelike fake shark ever committed to film — and they clearly had no problem getting the thing to work, because they show it plenty. It’s so real, in fact, that only the more fantastical elements (e.g., the shark walks on land) indicate that it’s a fake. If they ran this footage on the evening news, they could cause a total panic, Orson Welles/War of the Worlds-style. Watch:
Incredible, right??? Makes Gravity look like some cheapo indie flick.
“Sword in Mouth, Fire Eyes” appears on Norma Jean’s Wrongdoers, which is out now on Razor & Tie.
