The Human Abstract Guitarist A.J. Minette’s New Project Isn’t Metal, is Nobel
Everyone remembers A.J. Minette, right? Brilliant guitar player for The Human Abstract and former MetalSucks columnist? Heckuva guy, too.
Well this a photo of A.J.’s new band, Nobel:
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Whoa, A.J. started a black metal band?!?!” And I can totally see why you would think that, but, no, Nobel is not a black metal band. Based on their first single, “Wild Dream,” at least, I’d say Nobel play folk music. Not like the shitty pop music you hear people refer to as “folk music” these days — like Inside Llewyn Davis 1960’s Greenwich Village honest to Ochs folks music. It’s like Ian & Sylvia, but more orchestral. I love it.
Here’s their song “Wild Dream (The River’s Rise).” I hope you love it, too!

Nobel’s debut album is scheduled for release later this year. I will pray every night to Mattie Montgomery for a co-headlining tour with The Human Abstract, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
