Darkest Hour’s Mike Schleibaum Prepares for Move to a Higher Tax Bracket

Metal musicians have publicly shared photos of their hilariously teeny royalty checks in the past, but this one that Darkest Hour guitarist Mike Schleibaum posted on the band’s Facebook page seems especially noteworthy, because it is literally the smallest amount of money for which a check can be written.

I’m sure there’s some legal reason why they had to send him this check regardless of the fact that it may literally be worth less than the paper on which it’s printed (it’s obviously worth less than the cost of the stamp it took to mail it), but still… this is actually pretty wasteful when you think about it.

I can’t decide what would be funnier: if Schleibaum framed this and kept it on his wall, or if he actually took it to a bank to have it cashed.

Darkest Hour signed with Sumerian Records last summer, and should have a new album out later this year.
