Volbeat’s “Lonesome Rider” Has a Purdy Mouth
Honkytonkcore heroes Volbeat have released a new video for their song “Lonesome Rider” (featuring Walk Off The Earth’s Sarah Blackwood) and it’s pretty great. The black and white cinematography is just gorgeous. It actually has a coherent narrative and works as a short film as much as it does a music video. Even the editing is fantastic, moving the viewer through different time periods fluidly and without ever being confusing. (And check out that 2001-esque match cut at the 2:24 mark. Works narratively and it has meaning.) Keep in mind I don’t even really like Volbeat, and I still think this clip deserves a ton of praise.
Watch the video for “Lonesome Rider” below. It was directed by Rob Caggiano’s ponytail.
