Video: Infectious Grooves Play Second Reunion Show Since June
Infectious Grooves — now featuring founding Faith No More guitarist Jim Martin in addition to Suicidal Tendencies vocalist Mike Muir, Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins, and bassist Robert Trujillo, who is no other band of note — reunited for Friday night’s 50th anniversary celebration of the infamous Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood. This is the second gig the band has played since June, when they appeared at Metallica’s Orion Music + More Festival. It would be really swell if they’d do a full tour, but I can’t really see that happening until Trujillo can get away from his job at Office Max for a few weeks. I hope he’s been saving up those vacation days!
ANYWAY, here’s video of the Whiskey performance. They sound pretty good… but mostly, I still can’t get over the appearance of a bald, clean-shaven Jim Martin. Dude could probably walk up to me in the street and hit me with his Flying V and I wouldn’t recognize him.
